Since we took control of Somerset County government in 2020 Somerset County has been a leader in protecting the rights of our LGBTQ+ community. But there's more to do. In Congress I will fight to pass the Equality Act to add sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity to the 1964 Civil Rights Act; include LGBTQ+ focused health care in all federal programs; expand mental health services for LGBQ+ youth; and recognize that the issues facing many in the LGBTQ+ community are faced by women, people of color, and other marginalized communities and we must work together to find and implement solutions.
When I am in Congress I will fight for Medicare for All, because no one should be without healthcare due to a preexisting condition or income level. Until then, I will continue to work to enhance access to health care as I did bringing Zufall to Somerset County’s Richard Hall Community Health Center, and as I have supported here with the first school based center.
Real talk with real students. Visited Franklin High School’s Debate & Politics Club today — because the decisions we make in government are the ones these kids will live with. Grateful for every question, and every moment like this one. ❤️
